In a convergence of earthly stewardship and celestial wisdom, the Masons of California have announced a three-year, $968,000 investment to transform math education for 1,000 young learners in Los Angeles. This initiative, launched on March 14, 2025, partners with the Center for Family Math, Raising a Reader, PowerMyLearning, and the Partnership for Los Angeles Schools to serve transitional kindergarten through second grade students in high-need LAUSD schools.

The program recognizes mathematics as a universal language—a reflection of cosmic order that every child deserves to explore. By providing multilingual guides, play-based activities, and virtual workshops for families, the effort bridges opportunity gaps that have long shadowed underserved communities. “When families are given the tools to get involved in their child’s education, students succeed—period,” said Doug Ismail, president of the California Masonic Foundation, emphasizing that numeracy is not merely academic but a birthright of understanding creation’s patterns.
